Brig. Gen. Robert W. Claude is the Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Operations, Training and Force Development (J3/7), Headquarters United States Space Command, Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. U.S. Space Command is one of 11 unified commands under the Department of Defense and is responsible for deterring conflict, defending U.S. and allied freedom of action in the space area of operations, delivering combat-relevant space capability to the joint/combined force, and developing space forces to advance U.S. and allied interests in, through and from the space domain. As MA, Brig. Gen. Claude assists the J3/7 in executing full-spectrum space operations, maintaining credible space deterrence capabilities, providing analytical planning support, leading the combatant command’s participation in joint and combined exercises, and ensuring the education, training, and assessments of assigned and attached space forces.
Brig. Gen. Claude was commissioned in 1991 through the AFROTC program at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a career space and cyber officer with more than 30 years of service.
Brig. Gen. Claude has commanded one squadron, served as wing vice commander, and has held numerous staff positions at the unit, major command, combatant command and service headquarters levels. Prior to his current position, Brig. Gen. Claude served as the MA to the Deputy Chief of Space Operations, Strategy, Plans, Programs, and Analysis, United States Space Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia.
